In this episode of Food for Thought, we interview Coral Fodor Strong, who with her husband Russ, owns and operates Garden Kitchen, in the Rolando neighborhood of San Diego.

We spoke with Coral in her newly opened, casual, elegant and cozy wine lounge. In the relaxed atmosphere, our conversation took many interesting twists and turns.

We talked about producing outstanding food in their cozy kitchen, where they take careful consideration of the food from beginning to end. Coral's focus is on sustainability, using organic, local, and seasonable items, as well as offering hormone- and antibiotic-free meats when available.

We chat about her background in the restaurant industry, what it takes to run a successful business (a LOT of very hard work!), and the passion she brings to her restaurant that makes it the success that it is.

And that's not all...Garden Kitchen is located at

4024 Rolando Blvd, San Diego CA 92115
